ABOUT NORTH WEST FIRE CONTROL
Since 28th May 2014, North West Fire Control have been handling 999 calls and incidents for four fire and rescue services using one mobilising system.
North West Fire Control is a public sector company set up exclusively by the Fire Services in the North West to jointly handle all 999 emergency calls and be responsible for mobilising firefighters and fire engines to incidents in Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
OUR ROLE
North West Fire Control covers the largest geographical area of any fire control room in England. We cover a diverse area of over 5000 square miles with a population of over 5.5 million people. The terrain varies from large rural areas in Cumbria and Lancashire, to urban areas, an international airport and nuclear installations, not to mention a very complex and busy motorway system and tourist resorts. The incidents we deal with can be many and varied.
