Average time to answer emergency calls

This figure is the average time it takes to answer emergency calls.

North West Fire Control currently aims to answer all emergency calls from the public and other agencies such as Police and Ambulance within 10 seconds.

This is achieved by ensuring that our emergency control room operators are available 24 hours per day and during known periods of high call volumes we have more operators available to answer calls.

North West fire Control uses ACD to help achieve this target. ACD stands for Automatic Call Distribution, which enables emergency calls to be presented to individual emergency control room operators automatically that are currently available.
