AVERAGE TIME TO SEND FIRE ENGINES TO FIRES
This figure is the average time it takes one of our emergency control room operators to answer an emergency call, extract and process the information from the caller and mobilise a fire engine to an incident involving a fire or fire alarm.
North West Fire Control will not automatically send fire engines to every call received.
The call handling process is designed to reduce mobilisations to known false alarms allowing fire crews to attend incidents where they are required, continue with their important community work or complete vital training exercises enhancing their own performance.
